Is seal line planter box , 2" x 12" pine boards will work fine for planters. 1" x 12" boards would rot out in 4-5 years, but 2" x 12" should take 7-10 years to rot out. the bottoms will rot out first, but if they're mounted or boosted up off the deck with spacers so they're not sitting on a layer of water all the time, they'll last longer..
